Leighanne Faught has been elected to serve as Vice Chair of the Alabama State Board of Accountancy for the 2012-2013 term. Leighanne was appointed by Governor Robert Bentley, and confirmed by the Senate, to the Alabama State Board of Public Accountancy earlier in 2012.
“Leighanne’s election is great external recognition of the leadership skills that she exhibits in our offices. We are proud to have Leighanne as a shareholder in our Firm, and pleased that she continues to contribute to the state of Alabama and the accounting profession in general,” JMF Managing Shareholder Bryan Chandler said.
Leighanne is the third woman to serve in the state board’s history and the first shareholder to serve from JamisonMoneyFarmer PC.
“It has been an incredible year of service and I am pleased to have the backing of the Board to serve in a leadership capacity,” Leighanne stated. Leighanne was been extremely busy this year as she and the JMF team were highlighted for its post-tornado documentation of disaster losses work in Business Alabama’s July 2012 Number Cruncher to the Rescue article.
Leighanne manages JamisonMoneyFarmer’s Accounting and Auditing practice and assists with the research and implementation of new accounting standards, including international standards. She started with the firm in 1986 and was made shareholder in 1998. She holds a BS in Accounting, cum laude, from the University of Alabama, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is the A&A Liaison for CPAmerica International, Inc. With more than 25 years of experience in public accounting, she assists clients with corporate, partnership, and individual income tax return reporting, as well as management advisory services.
