Carl T. Jamison named First Vice Chairman of the BCA Board of Directors.
The board of directors of the Business Council of Alabama has elected one of JMF’s shareholders, Carl T. Jamison, as first vice chairman of the organization. In his capacity as first vice chairman, Jamison has also been elected the chairman of ProgressPAC, the BCA’s political action committee. This is a volunteer, uncompensated position which began January 1st and will last for one year.
“We are grateful to have Carl serving in a leadership position for our organization,” said BCA president & CEO William J. Canary. “His vision and commitment will help provide leadership we need to stimulate growth in the private sector.”
As first vice chairman, Jamison will play a key role in carrying out the mission of the BCA: to improve Alabama’s business climate. He will work closely with the chairman of the BCA as well as the other officers. Jamison will serve as chairman of the BCA in 2013.
Jamison is a third-generation shareholder in the firm, joining JMF in 1981 and becoming a shareholder in 1987 after completing a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Alabama. He is currently serving as a member of the University of Alabama’s President’s Cabinet. Mr. Jamison is a board member and past chairman of the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority, the Boys and Girls Club of West Alabama, the First Tee of Tuscaloosa and an elder at First Presbyterian Church, Tuscaloosa. He is also a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Society of Certified Public Accountants. Jamison is married to the former Julie Almon of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and they have 2 sons.
