The Department of Industrial Relations has posted the SUI rates for 2012.  This year the lowest rate is down a full point from 2011!  The lowest rate available is now 1.19% with a .06% security assessment.

You can pull the rate document from the DIR egov site.  To do so, log in to your account and select the Tax Rate link, enter your account number and sign on information, choose the year and the form will pop up.

If you are a QuickBooks user you will need to update this rate in the payroll item list before processing your first January payroll.  To do this go to Lists>Payroll Item List>Select Alabama Unemployment Company and follow the instructions in the wizard.
